AlFresco Dining With Marks & Spencer

Nothing says summer like eating in the great outdoors; whether that’s picnics in the forest, fish & chips wrapped in newspaper on the beach or BBQing in the garden. Sunny days leading into balmy nights just scream alfresco dining.

One of the beauties of dining outside is the laid back approach. All you need is simple food, good company & a pretty setting. All eyes are drawn to the table so it’s vital to make it look inticing to impress your guests & enhance the atmosphere.

Melamine tableware is the perfect solution to the issue of breakages. Far from the disposable look you’re that pops into your head when you think of plastic, Marks & Spencer’s new Alfresco range hits the nail on the head with their new range of plates, glasses & jugs designed specially to be used outside.

Use side bowls to hold salad, you can also use fruit like lemons to add interest as well as be the perfect partner to your crackled jug of cloudy lemonade; a firm favourite on a hot summers day in our household.

The garden is somewhere to use bright, bold colours so don’t be afraid to clash until your hearts content or use the same tones such as my blue & gold eclectic scheme.

Finally finish it off by using candlelight; citronella during the day to keep the insects away & add to the atmosphere when the sun goes down. This holder would also look lovely holding some fresh blooms like handpicked sweetpea’s as an alternative.
