Design My Spare Bedroom – Design 1

If you read my post yesterday you’ll see that I’m calling out to all my lovely blog readers & followers to have an input into designing my spare bedroom.

Over the next week I’ll be posting 3 looks that I’ve put together along with calling any budding interior designers forward with ideas in order to start a voting procedure on Friday (23rd Sept) with the results being collected on this Sunday at 8pm.

To kick things off I’m going to start with my gorgeously feminine peach pink, grey & white scheme.

My idea behind this scheme is for the walls to be painted in this delicate peachy pink ‘Pink Ground’ by Farrow & Ball. This will give a warm & soft splash of colour which is then muted by white furniture including this chest of drawers from statementfurnitureuk.com & a white metal ornate day bed similar to the one pictured with a pull out trundle to be made into 2 singles/a double when needed. This is important as space is limited in this room.

Soft furnishing wise, I’ll be adding colour with soft grey bedding as well as various scatter cushions with DIY pom pom trims to add texture. A simple black out roller blind will be fitted but for decor purposes these lace net curtains ‘Alvine Spet‘ from Ikea are a bargain at £10.

Accessories will consist of ornate photo frames, a statement lamp, candles & so on which are to be confirmed. To add a statement piece this large wicker heart also seen in my lounge will sit above the bed.

So, what do you think?

Love, Charlotte x

Absolutely love that pink colour, although don't think I'd be allowed it in our house (I can only just get away with purple!!!). We are just about to order a trundle bed as well not because of space but because it's our second guest bedroom and we didn't see the point of going for another double when we don't always have two couples staying over. xx

Love the colour too, I have it in my utility room but difficult to keep clean when your married to a farmer and live on the farm… I like the look, it's very feminine looking… I will wait and see what the other designs are like…

    All things nice…

It's so gorgeous isn't it! Pink isn't just for girls but my husband would moan as well if it was our bedroom I suppose. I'm so torn between a small double & a trundle – especially considering we have students so 2 beds would probably be more convenient xx

Ahh I bet it looks gorgeous! You'll have to send me a picture. I bet everythings hard to keep clean living on a farm…it's my dream to live in the country but the mess my worst nightmare eek xx

A trundle will be better if you keep having two students, you could always get a mattress topper for when you want to turn it into a double so that you can't easily feel the join. xx

PS commenting has just made me realise I haven't changed my name on my email account. xx

I have a very similar colour in my bedroom but is not so pink. It's a Dulux paint called Gentle Fawn. It's a lot more pinkier than it displays on the tin!

Rose gold coloured accessories looks lovely with grey, rose tones too!

The IKEA lace net curtains I adore too, great value for money!

This design 100% gets my vote over design 2. It's soft, warm but classic! X

Ohhhh I may have to test it out – I love the peachy tones. I was looking at a rose gold bed but can't find one in small double size unfortunately. Make sure to come by tomorrow to vote! x
