How To Warm Up Your Home Office*

If you work from home, then you most likely have your own little office hidden away where you get your work done. But just because it’s strictly for work, doesn’t mean it has to look dull and boring inside. – How’s that going to inspire you to get jobs done?

You should walk into your office space feeling energised and ready for the day – not feel exhausted before you’ve even started.

Here’s how you can warm the place up.

Seating –

Other than the chair you use when sitting at your desk, it’s a good idea to consider buying a sofa that you can lounge on when you need a five-minute break to relax with a cup of tea. A high back chesterfield sofa is ideal because not only is it extremely comfortable to lounge on, but it looks very professional and smart – very fitting for an office. The high back gives you more variety of ways to sit and really get a good stretch, while the moulded foam seat cushions allow you to sink away into pure bliss.

Lamp –

As well as your ordinary light source, you should think about getting a lamp next to where you work. That could either be a small lamp that sits on your desk, or a tall one that stands beside you. This will just give you that extra bit of light you may need when writing, and also gives you another option if you plan on working in the evening, but don’t want the bright lights glaring down on you, all you will need is the warm glow of the lamp.

Music –

Music is an incredible way to decompress, relieve stress, and promote creative thinking, so you definitely need some sort of sound system if you don’t have one already. The kind of music you listen to is entirely up to you, but bear in mind that you don’t want it to distract you from your work, so keep it light. If there’s a specific type of music you like to listen to that helps you concentrate – make yourself a playlist so you have all your favourites in one place. Or just tune into your radio station of choice if that’s easier.

Plants –

Not only are plants a lovely way to bring in nature into your space, but they actually help to balance out the humidity in the air, as well as purifying it – which is great for your workspace. They are visually pleasing to look at, and can even smell divine if you go in the flower direction, and what’s better than walking into a room that smells of an array of wildflowers. The colours will dramatically brighten up the room too, giving you a real sense of life.

So no more excuses – don’t suffer in your cold home office any longer – now you have all the tricks in turning it into a lovely warm atmosphere, where you can work feeling happier and a lot more comfortable. All you need now is the top of the range coffee maker, and you’ll be sorted!
