Today is the love of my life, our pug Mungo’s, 5th Birthday.
Pugs are popular because of their funny quirky nature. They come in fawn or black & have the wrinkly short muzzle with a podgy body & curly tail.
I stumbled across a litter of pug puppies (when they weren’t as common as they are now!) on our local Gumtree website where his breeder was advertising. After falling in love over the pictures I decided to go & view. I didn’t tell my husband as I knew what his reaction would be.
Originally I wanted a fawn female called Betty. However when I got there, my little tiny pot bellied Mungo trotted up to me & it was love at first sight. He chose me.
After putting a deposit down, I told my husband. After going mad, he came round to the idea & we went back so he could meet him. He fell in love too. We then waited a couple of weeks for him to become old enough to come home with us whilst we prepared to welcome a sweet ball of fur into our family.
Mungo is sweet & sensitive. He’s caring & although he has the brain of a slug (I’m not even joking, he’s the most ‘special’ dog you’ll ever meet), he makes up for it by being my loyal companion.
Anybody that knows me will know how attached at the hip we are. He’s my furry best friend.
He’s taken to being a big brother like a duck to water. He’s patient & loving to our two human littles. They adore him just as much as he loves them.
His main hobbies are following me literally whenever I go, sleeping (99.9% of the time), snoring, farting & eating. A typical male.
He doesn’t bark, dig, chew anything up or cause me any stress in life whatsoever. He’s the best dog anyone could ever wish for.
So, happy birthday to my fur baby, my favourite (shhh don’t tell the kids!), my little pig, Mungo.
