Home Tour – Bathroom

Our family bathroom is something that I am still in the process of ‘faffing’ with – i’d love to change the flooring & the taps to something a bit more traditional looking soon so that’s on our never ending to-do list.

I recently gave the bathroom unit a bit of a makeover (see here) as it was previously laminate wood, which has changed the space massively & makes the room a lot brighter.

It’s actually a ‘Jack & Jill’ bathroom with two doors. One goes in to the landing next to Rory’s room & our bedroom, & the other goes in to our spare bedroom which is currently in a wallpaper stripped state so will be included in our last home tour in a couple of weeks seeing as we just have that room & the hallway/landing to show you.

The bath is absolutely huge, although it’s hard to tell in pictures it’s probably the biggest i’ve ever seen & we have the same in our en-suite which is the one we mainly use apart from when bathing the littles which is always done in here.

I have accessorised this space by adding little touches such as artificial lilies, candles, plus glass jars from places like B&M & Home Bargains filled with bathroom essentials like cotton wool balls, pads & buds.

Jug, washroom tin sign & candle set – The Range
Pamper me box – B&M
Artificial lilies – Dunelm Mill

To add a bit of personalisation I put up frames with pictures of Elsa in the bath (although they are massively outdated now & I really need to get new ones of her with Rory!), you’ve got to love a bubble beard!
All of the bath toys live in the wicker basket above the bathroom unit.

After our anniversary stay at The Pig Hotel (see my blog post here) I have absolutely head over heels fallen in love (even more so than I did originally) with roll top/claw foot baths.

My dream bathroom would have wooden wall panelling with a roll top bath & traditional victorian fixtures & fittings. Our en-suite is definitely on the ‘to do’ list for a makeover rather than this bathroom though seeing as once the littles are older I will be able to appreciate it in peace plus it’s not really to my tastes with the white & black tiles & modern look (view our en-suite here). One day…..

Hope you all enjoyed this weeks tour – next week will be the hallway & landing!

Love, Charlotte x
