Elsa’s Bedroom Makeover – Before

Hope you all had a lovely Easter Sunday yesterday & have recovered from your chocolate coma’s!

I blogged briefly back on our 1 year moving anniversary to tell you all about the upcoming changes at Baylyn House & have been hard at work the past couple of weeks transforming our spare bedroom into Elsa’s new bedroom.

I haven’t ever shown our spare room on Instagram or here on the blog as it’s been a bit deserted. We basically put all our love into the rest of the house & left that room as it was never used. It became a ‘nothing’ room despite having so much potential.

Here’s a few ‘before’ pictures for you to get an idea of the space. White walls, black feature wallpaper on the chimney breast & old mismatched furniture which I inherited & hadn’t got round to upcycling –

The reasoning behind swapping her into our spare room & then moving Rory into her old bedroom (which I’ll be working on over the next couple of weeks too so keep your eyes peeled for that makeover…do I ever stop) rather than just moving Rory across, was that we plan to stay in this house for a long time & this bedroom has access to our main bathroom,  a ‘jack & jill’ style door system.

Realistically a female will spend a lot more time in the bathroom than a male so that was the basic thinking behind this swap around. Plus, I’m pretty sure that a teenage boy would most probably smell out the toilet & leave it in a complete mess if it was within that easy access.

So, this week I’m going to be blogging every single day to show you all the makeover with the final ‘reveal’ on Friday. Throughout the week I’ll include the various upcycling I’ve done as well as product sources & how to get the look. Love, Charlotte x
